Emotion Regulating Chair
For Amphia hospital, I made a project called Emotion Regulating Chair or ERC for short. I did this together with fellow students. The goal of the project was to create a future scenario that confronts people with the current world we live in. Our fictional world had to still be based in reality; it had to be a consequence of something changing in the world today. For us, the focus had to be on genes. After a lot of research me and my projectgroep found out that skin cells can be turned into stem cells, after which they can then be turned into sex cells. This would create a world where people of the same gender could have a child together. With one major difference: because of xx and xy chromosomes, women could only have women together, while men could have both. This causes exponential growth in the amount of women in the world.

Our final concept featured a chair that would force the occupant to sit still and focus. Because it's in a world where there are more women, the design is female centered. It will not be comfortable for men to sit on. For this project, I worked on the design and product photos, as well as research on the topic.  I also worked on the concept poster for this project, where I found a way to communicate our project and make it understandable without anyone having to do the research me and the people in my group did.
